Marte Foire d'art contemporain

A Contemporary Art Fair Rooted on the Mediterranean Coast

For the past 12 years, MARTE Contemporary Art Fair has played a pivotal role in the Spanish art scene. Held in Castellón, near Valencia, this annual event embraces an inclusive mission: to democratize art collecting and make it accessible to a wider audience—not just elite circles.

Scheduled from May 23 to 25, 2025, MARTE 2025 continues its commitment to showcasing emerging and mid-career artists through a curated selection of 20 galleries from all over Spain.

20 Carefully Curated Galleries from Across Spain

Each edition of MARTE is shaped by a selective process that highlights fresh voices and distinctive creative visions. The fair favors artworks that are not only powerful and innovative, but also affordable—encouraging new collectors to take their first steps.

Among the 2025 participating galleries:

  • Artizar, presenting Victoria Ramírez
  • Arma Gallery, featuring a dialogue between Kyte Tatt and Jiri Hauschka
  • Herrero de Tejada, showcasing Miguel Ángel Erba
  • Shiras, with works by Eduardo Urdiales and Enrique Zabala
  • Modus Operandi, presenting Juan Díaz Faes

Together, they offer a vibrant mosaic of contemporary expression, with works suited for all types of collectors.

Guest Artist : Robert Ferrer I Martorell

The 2025 edition of MARTE shines a spotlight on Robert Ferrer I Martorell (born in Picassent, 1978), one of Spain’s leading figures in contemporary geometric abstraction. Represented by the Pep Llabrés gallery from Mallorca, Ferrer I Martorell enjoys international recognition.

A key moment in his career was his selection by the Cervantes Institute in Paris in 2016 for the installation Porta oberta a l’invisible, marking a major milestone in his global outreach.

Free Entry and Open to All

In line with its inclusive spirit, entry to MARTE and all parallel activities is completely free. This makes the fair a welcoming space for art lovers, curious visitors, students, and established professionals alike.

Despite increasing demand, the organizers have chosen to limit participation to 20 galleries—a decision that ensures quality over quantity and greater attention to each project.

Why MARTE Castellón 2025 Is a Must-Attend Event

By fostering diverse artistic languages, formal experimentation, and intergenerational dialogue, MARTE continues to assert Castellón’s role as a key destination for contemporary art in Spain.

Whether you’re an art collector, gallerist, or curious visitor, MARTE 2025 offers a unique opportunity to explore the future of Spanish art—in a format that is as accessible as it is inspiring.
